We worked with Schwan's Tree Care to remove an overgrown pussywillow that was touching the house and starting to be a problem.
Communication was great: emails to start the process and get a written quote and see insurance. Transparency around our job being a small one, and they'd fit it in when they could in between bigger jobs. Texts to confirm when they were on the way over. When they were finished, the property was totally clean: not a trace of the tree remained. Will use them again and can highly recommend.

I hired Alex to trim back a big red oak tree on my property last summer. He came by with a free estimate the day after I called.
Price was reasonable and work was done about a month later--they were understandably backlogged with work from the winter.
Invoice was paid electronically via PayPal which was a nice touch. I will be using him again for tree maintenance and would recommend to others.

Alex was a genuine pleasure to work with from start to finish. The job was not a big one for him -- trimming trees and lilacs near power lines. Between his first time here for an estimate and when he came to do the job I kept adding work and pestering him with questions.
He was very patient with me, and did a great job, and gave solid advice on how to keep my plants from falling into the state that years of neglect had let them to.

This is a very professional, competent outfit that did the tree work at our house quickly and efficiently with no fuss. Alex went to the house and made an evaluation of the situation while I was at work, then sent me a report of the work needed together with an estimate of the cost.
After comparing quotes from a couple of other companies, I found his quote to be reasonable, and though not the cheapest, I felt it was a fair price.
Next, they came on the appointed day to do the work, did everything as stated in their estimate, and left the house without a trace of any tree branches or limbs. (The job involved major pruning and trim back for five trees and one removal of a very tall tree.)
All in all, it was a very positive experience and I would strongly recommend Schwan's tree service and would use them again without any hesitation.

Awesome service and great rates
We had a huge honey locust tree fall and bring down with it, part of a willow tree, pine tree and some other smaller trees in our Dorchester back yard. It looked like a tornado ripped through our backyard. Alex and his team cleared the entire yard in 2 days(and worked all day in a rainstorm)! Other companies talked about bringing in bucket trucks and chippers. Not Schwan's! They removed the "hangers" in the willow tree by hand, cleared out fallen debris from our neighbors yard. Going forward, they are my go to tree company.

I joined forces with my neighbors to get quotes from three reputable tree company's in Boston and Schwan's was the most reasonable. We needed multiple trees cut down and pruning of some truly massive trees.
The owner Alex was a master. He was knowledgeable, extraordinarily careful, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. My neighbor agrees. He said -and I quote - "I am a very picky grader and I can count on one hand the number of times I gave someone a 10...These guys are a 10."
Funny that my neighbor used the word "guys" because Alex's crew consisted of himself and two young badass women. Like Alex, they knew what they were doing and were extremely careful, and they worked hard to get it done right and on time.
I doubt you'll find cheaper - I know you won't find better.

Alex and team did a big job on our property last week, taking down 5 trees and trimming/pruning around a dozen others that hadn't gotten much care in decades.
The whole process, from quote to end result was fantastic. Their knowledge, communication, timeliness, approachability and attention to detail was refreshing and their prices were well under the big guys.

I needed a tree removal and cut back for second tree. It looked like a tricky dangerous job to me - a limb on wires, play structure and house close by to miss. Alex came quickly to assess and make recommendations, was professional and friendly and strait forward, seemed to really know what he was doing with trees, and even gave a price that was reasonable and lower than competitors.
He expedited the service as it could possibly have brought down the wires. He and his crew took care of it with confidence. I never feared for their safety, even though Alex was climbing and cutting large limbs.
All three workers were kind, competent and efficient. They did an excellent job! Many thanks!

The fellows at Schwann Tree Care cut down a big ol'tree in our yard yesterday. Alex called it a declining box elder; we said goodbye to a bit of childhood - in it's heyday, that was the swing tree for neighborhood kids.
Alex and crew were (as always - this is the 3rd job) prompt, careful, very skilled (fascinating to watch) and considerate about clean-up. We are relieved to have the tree safely taken care of, the neighbors are happy, the garden is sunnier -AND my bank card still has some life left in her!
I feel really confident saying these guys are a good choice if you need help with caring for or removing trees.

I got quotes for a tree removal from three different places and Schwan's was the cheapest. The next cheapest was about 20% higher and the most expensive one was almost twice as much! Alex also came quickly for the estimate and after I agreed to it he was able to schedule the job within that same week.
The dead tree is now gone and for relatively cheap, and that's really about all anyone can ask for. Recommended.
